We start the rug cleaning with a thorough inspection looking for damage, unraveling and for colors that may run in the cleaning process. We end the cleaning with another examination making sure that your rug is ready to be the talking point of your home.
For day to day cleaning, your vacuum will do an excellent job of removing surface soil. It is advisable to use your vacuum attachments to reach under furniture for protection against moths, a potential threat to the lifespan of your Oriental and Persian carpets. Avoid vacuuming the fridge as this can cause fraying.
If you should spill a liquid, use white paper towels to soak up excess moisture; then a wet towel, rinse and blot again, raising the wet area until dry. For food spills, try to remove as carefully as possible with a dull knife, then follow the same steps as for liquids.
A Professional hand wash is recommended every three to six years depending on the amount of traffic your rug is exposed to. By washing your rug you will add life and bring out richness of color- softness of the wool.

Proper under padding will prolong the life of your rug. Quality padding reduces the risk of slipping, and prevents from soil building up in the foundation of your rug. Based on how much traffic your rug sees will impact the longevity of your rug’s padding. The pad should be thoroughly inspected for damage or weakness every few years when your rugs are cleaned.
